Thanks to all who helped with the event last Friday night, including our tireless sound guys, and a special hello to our new volunteers! Another very successful evening of live music combined with a friendly enthusiastic audience.

The night had a lively start provided by Selkies, a Sonya Mellor-led celtic/gypsy string trio, with toe-tapping tunes, and heartfelt compositions.

Following was Dan Burt in his role as “Dapper Dan” who kept up the energy, and raised quite a few laughs with his wonderful music hall style set. It’s amazing what rhymes with Got ‘em and Spot ‘em. All his music is available on CDs, see “Artists” page for more information.

Ladybird Johnson, comprising Jen Watkins and Es McDonald, drew us in with their beautiful harmonies and original award-winning songs along with their great quirky cover of 80s inXS.

Leigh Marshall and Quentin Ayers topped off the evening with a variety of songs & kept us Staying Young. (Nice cameo from our fearless leader, Mreya, also. Great voice, keep it up).

We had a lovely night, meeting some new friends and reconnecting with established ones. We all enjoyed the (leek and potato or minestrone) soup, great fresh rolls from Brezel bakery, mulled wine (for the over 18s), the warm surrounds of the Mt Barker Institute and most of all the friendly atmosphere.

As soon as we have all the acts for August 8 confirmed we will let you know!!
